Neural Plasticity

Neural Plasticity

Neural Plasticity is a new defined condition where there is uncontrolled pain or under-Treated Pain.

Unrelieved Pain -> Increase excessive nitric acid release -> block potassium channel -- decrease effects of opioids

Unrelieved Pain -> Increase excessive nitric acid release -> increased substance P-> Increase excitability of pain receptor -> increase transmission of pain signals from peripheral sites -> minor stimulus cause unexpected pain

Unrelieved pain -> increase c-fos protein ->increase sensitization of spinal cord -> brain ->uncontrolled pain

Prolonged activation of pain receptors -> cause neural cells to grow new connective endings -> pain spread from original organ -> pain become more diffuse and difficult to localize
